Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, the national police chief, announced Friday (March 23) that he would not replace the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police team handling the investigation of the 30-million baht lottery controversy, saying that the probe was already 100 percent completed.

His announcement was in response to school teacher Preecha Kraikruan who demanded that the police investigating team be replaced.  Mr Preecha also petitioned the Department of Special Investigation to probe the case to ensure fairness to all parties involved.

The national police chief insisted that the police handling the case did not bully or persecute Mr Preecha and challenged the school teacher to file lawsuits against the police inquiry officers if he felt that he was not treated fairly.

They cannot change the team probing the 30 million, as the money has already been shared, and there is none left for anybody else.

must be why these probes always seem to take much longer than they should; must allow time for all the backroom dealing

Of course he would say that. The lottery prize money has long been divvied up and much of it either spent or committed. No going back. They can't unring the finishing bell and start all over again.

He's obvoliously already been paid off and doesn't want to return his ill gotten gains!! What a show!

The sooner these old timers who have been doing bad for decades are gone. The better the country will be. And shut down this private money stealing enterprise. l also recommend building a new jail..Police don't do well in general population

You can be sure that they're successors won't be any different,  already groomed and waiting in line.
