Farage and Reform are aiming at winning the next election and have significant support amongst voters. This in no small part due to the favorable coverage Farage has enjoyed in the media and, by example, his frequent appearances on BBC Question Time, despite being a minor party in Parliament. There are two possibilities as to why Farage and Reform are getting the coverage you object to: Firstly with Farage’s eyes fixed on No 10 it is only fitting that he and his party are subjected to the critical scrutiny that has for too long been absent. But more likely, Farage has always controlled the news narrative by providing ‘front page copy’ with headline grabbing statements and antics. Unfortunately for Farage and Reform the balance has tipped in favor of reporting the sleaze that drips from Farage and Reform. The dirt around Farage and Reform has become the more sellable ‘front page copy’. It’s a long standing truism of British news media, the press love building people up in the minds of their readership, almost as much as they enjoy knocking them back down.
