george Posted January 26, 2007 Share Posted January 26, 2007 New charter will complete by July 6 BANGKOK: -- The country's new constitution will be completed by July 6, in keeping with the deadline set by the junta that seized power four months ago, said secretary to the 35-member of the charter writing Friday. Somkid Lertpaitoon, secretary to Constitution Drafting Committee, said the first draft of the new charter should be finished by April 15 and ready to be submitted to the main Constitution Drafting Assembly in the first half of June, before being put to a referendum. "The final draft will then put to a referendum and would be ready by July 6. This would meet the six-month deadline," Somkid told reporters.
