Just to up-date my previous posts on this. I spoke to the Italian Embassy about going next week to apply for Schengen for my Thai girlfriend of 10 years. I was told first to go to VFS, but I said I wanted to go to Embassy direct, cut out the middle-man. However, the Embassy does not offer a return courier service for the passport, and contrary to times seen on various websites, it is closed on Wednesdays, but open Thursday afternoons 14 - 16. The charge is Bht 2300 at the Embassy, and Bht 3000 at VFS. As I live 'up North' it will have to be VFS for us.
