webfact
Video: Brazen violence on Cha-Am beach as two elderly women reportedly attacked by Thai men video screenshot A post on Facebook said that a group of Thai men injured some female beach traders in an apparent dispute over customers. The footage was shared to the popular site of Mem Pho Dam and viewed 160,000 times. The poster said it happened on Saturday afternoon at about 4.30pm after a woman came to try and stop an attack on a man by a group of other men. To my mind, this sort of thing gives a far worse image of Thailand to tourists than a couple posing on a Buddha monument, with or without panties showing. No screams of disgraceful or 5,000 Baht fines dished out here though it seems.

This must be part of the paying respect to the elderly in Songkran ritual.

Briggsy
In every mass tourism destination in Thailand where there is a beach, access to trade upon it is controlled by thuggery. No difference here to any beach in Phuket, Samui, Pattaya, etc.
