BANGKOK, 17th April 2018 (NNT) – Developments in Syria are not likely to affect Thailand, while two Thai nationals in Syria are found safe, a security official has claimed.

The National Security Council (NSC) Secretary-General, Gen Wanlop Rugsanaoh says recent developments regarding Syria have shown no indication of having any effect on Thailand, as the recent air-strike was limited, and related agencies are investigating the allegations of chemical weapons use.

He noted however, that the situation will affect oil prices and the capital market. Meanwhile Thai workers in the region are being taken care of by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On this matter, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai said today that there are only two Thai nationals living in Syria with their families, and that they are all safe.

The Minister added that the situation will have to be further assessed, and that the ASEAN countries have already discussed the matter without positioning themselves on any side.

I'm sure Russia, the US, Turkey, Iran ans Syria are greatly relieved.

There's enough cannon fodder on the filed as it is.
