TV celebrity cosmetic surgeon Dr Piyapong Howilailak and his wife Pavena Namsongkhram have been summoned to give information to police on May 11 about their endorsement of a product under the “Magic Skin” brand, a senior police officer said on Sunday.

The product has been at the centre of allegations over its dubious legality and alleged sub-standard quality.

The couple became famous on the “Take Me Out” dating game show, where they reportedly first met and fell in love.

National police deputy chief Pol General Weerachai Songmetta said that the suspect in the case, Kasit Worachington, who was arrested previously and released on bail, was summoned to meet police again on May 11.

On that day, Kasit would hear an additional charge of violating advertising laws for offences allegedly committed on occasions other than those already cited in his original charges related to advertising laws and fraud.

Police last week summoned nine Thai celebrities – from a group of 59 who reportedly advertised the firm’s products – to testify to them between May 4 and 7.

Several celebrities stepped forward to give testimony in advance on Friday, identifying themselves as “witnesses” and maintaining their innocence.

They included Pitchanart “May” Sakhakorn, Napapa “Patt” Tantrakul, Orapan “Aoffy Maxim” Dansiriwattanakun, and Nonthaporn “Ying Yae” Theerawattanasook

The 3 degrees look very knowledgeable in skin whitening.

Its sad actually, kinda similar to male fitness models that <deleted> themselves out to promote supplements. They probably don't even use them themselves but connect their name to it. The public thinks they got the way they got because of the supplements and buy an masse.

Here you got people who either had cosmetic surgery and of course good genes not much of their appearance if any is because of the fake products. However they do support the products. Sad that so many people fall for it. Though its not much different from other celebrities cashing in on their fame. There are no laws against it.

don't forget slimming pills and supplements have been around a long time, and many not safe,i know one person who took these many yrs ago,yes she lost weight but it made her very depressed.

if there is to be any blame attached,it would be interesting to see who's names are on the LICENCE'S

I really wish Thai women would understand that a slight tan on a Thai woman can be very appealing. Nothing worse than seeing one with a tanned body and a clown white face !

That is your opinion (and mine) but most Thais like white..and believe it or not most Thai woman want to attract a Thai man. So they try to suit the image a Thai man likes best.

The slimming pils that work are often dangerous, they can work for some people but are just not safe for the general public. Also the general public usually does not know about the side effects and often takes more than the recommended dose (1 is working good.. i want to lose weight double fast lets take 2 or 4)

Yes,Summoned to give information, not about the phony skin product but infomation of how thick the brown envelope will be from them.

This "Whit skin is best" idea in Asia come from the Chinese aristocrats many thousands of years ago The idea was to differate between the elite born and the field workers and what aristocrate would want to be caught with a field worker with no schooling as a wife or concubine ?

Well if these people get grief so should the likes of l'oreal and the rest.

Expensive marketing using beautiful models to suggest you use their product you too will be gorgeous.

Silk purse sows ear etc etc.

Utter scam imo

My mate's missus sells some special skin cream. A while back I asked him if it had been approved by the FDA (or whatever they're called here) and he said 'not yet'. But he assured me it's good stuff because the woman who owns the company is a nice lady.

A lot of people just believe what they want to be true. It's easier than thinking about stuff and using logic.

Celebrity doctor? We've had quite a few celebrity doctors in the uk.dr Crippen doctor Watson, doctor who and the best for last doctor Harold shipman.now there's some true celebrity doctors.
