I'm going fom BKK to seim reap for two weeks. What us my Best option on a kiwi passport for my visa? I was thinking just getting one when I fly in if this is possible. I presume all I need is a passport photo. What currency will I need while there? At present I have baht and kiwi dollars. Also for my wife's adduction can anyone recommend a good hotel near pub street with slot machines? As I understand it there are no casinos in siem reap anymore which personally for me is a huge bonus.

Went there a couple of years ago on my Kiwi p./port (no probs) and as I recall I went online at https://www.evisa.gov.kh/ and got accepted.

They email you a form which you take with you and present at the airport immigration with copies of your passport and return ticket (I think!!)

Or you can get visa on arrival and do need p/port copies and a pic.

Cost about US$30.00...……...and US$ is the best currency to take as accepted and often asked for. They will take Thai baht...…..the change you are given will be in the local currency, so be prepared for handfuls of coins and small note worth next to FA!!

Have a good trip.

You can get the visa on arrival at the airport if you want. Form will be handed out on the plane. That plus 1 photo and a blank page in your passport (visa takes up a whole page!).

Or if you prefer you can get it online. Costs about $5 more, saves a little time and a page in your passport.

I'm not aware of any place in town with slot machines.

Am I best to change Kiwi dollars into USD in BKK or will I get the same rate in Seim Reap? Cheers

Can't say as I've ever seen an NZ exchange rate posted on gold shop boards but since SR is such a tourist draw, there might be no problem. But the rate is listed on the Canadia Bank online ForEx board. I might change some NZ$ into US$ in Bangkok at either Yasu or Superrich.

Definitely change your money at Superich in Bangkok or similar money exchange. It will mean a double exchange i.e. NZD to THB to USD but this is carried out in one operation. The THB to USD rate is so narrow between buy and sell that you lose very little by this double exchange. Much better than Cambo I reckon.

The online visa 35 usd just requires a digital photo, so a phone selfie suitably edited will do.  It takes a couple of minutes to get it granted and the entry paperwork sent back to you for printing (2 copies b/w will do).

Just make sure you find the official Cambodian visa website. If it is more than 35 USD it's a visa shop.
