PM to meet political parties this month

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said he planned to meet with political parties some time this month after the Constitutional Court on Monday ruled that the amendments of Sections 140 and 141 of the Political Party Act by Order No.53/2560 issued on Dec 22 last year by Prime Minister Prayut Chano-cha in his capacity as chairman of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) did not violate the 2017 constitution.

 

“I will not raise any conditions. Whoever wants to come, come. I will not ask any party to join. As for parties which do not want to come, the people will decide for themselves why.

 

“As for a proposal by some parties for the meeting to be televised live, I would take it for consideration. I want to look into honesty of individual parties,” Gen Prayut said.

Aren't most the political parties the ones approved by the junta in favour of the junta seem legitimate that they meet with the head of the junta !

The Junta Party sizing up the other Parties. There is sure to be a bit of finger wagging by the PM, mixed in with a few threats and reminders of "who's the sheriff of this town".

Ah, so people can decide for themselves why any parties might choose not to attend, yet he says he will only consider having it televised because he wants to make sure everyone attending is honest.... 

 

So people are allowed to judge parties based on whether they attend of not, but they're not allowed to judge parties on whether they're being honest. That's up for the PM to decide. Can't wait for this free and fair election.

The last time Prayut invited the parties he locked them up and forcefully deposed the legally elected government. I can understand the parties' hesitation to join...

Any political party worth its mettle will flat out refuse any meeting. What, they have to explain themselves to him?

Probably wants to let them know it is time to drop out of the election....he now has it properly rigged and they would only be wasting their time.

Yes, intimidate those whose views differ from his, or connive with those who would would allow this taciturn coward to remain without debate nor scrutiny of any kind.
