jackspade
A friend of mine is looking at an offer with a local Thai company. The offer was fairly high in Thai terms (although, obviously, not compared to Western salaries). However, the company indicated there would be a a 13-17% tax rate, bringing that high number down quite a bit. Is this normal and to be expected? jossthaifarang
I wouldn't get out of bed in the morning for that kind of money, especially not with a Thai company where you will be expected to know and do everything asked of you, because you are supposed to be educated and get paid 3 times what a Thai engineer normally does. Based on your friends' particular circumstances there is also a series of tax deductions and allowances he may be able to take which will reduce the rate of tax even further.http://www.rd.go.th/publish/6045.0.html Edited June 13, 2018 by simoh1490

I don't believe these figures are for getting a WP only the minimum required to get an extension of stay at immigration. There is no minimum wage for issuance of the WP. There is no minimum wage for issuance of the WP. You're absolutely correct. The salaries quoted are the minimum to get an extension of stay based on employment.
