Hubby & brother are doing a renovation of mums house & they are now looking to buy wall insulation in either Khon Kaen or Bangkok. They want something mainly to muffle outside noise as the whole upstairs is one layer of wood so they plan on lining between the wood beams & then putting plaster board on top. An eventual layer of plaster will be skimmed over this too but that's for later.

Can anyone recommed the types of insualtion & names (in thai pls) or of any palces where brother can go & look at some different kinds.

It doesn't have to be bug repellant although that would be a bonus

I don't live in KK or Bangkok so can't tell of a particular place but any of the major building supply stores should have insulation for walls. The two kinds I have seen are the white bead foam boards (EPB...expanded polystyrene board) and the fiber blanket which is wrapped in an aluminised plastic (silvery colored) which comes in rolls. If you ask at the big supply stores they may have other kinds too.
