The allegations led to sever conflict between the NOB and the Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand and could possibly lead to monk rallying.

Coming out to dismiss the allegations was Pol Lt-Col Pongporn Phramsaneh, director of the National Office of Buddhism (NOB).

No appologizing or defense needed. They are doing the right thing against people and an organisation, that during so many years have been considered by the people, and by themselfs, to stand above the law. It´s the organisation that should appologize to the people, and be the ones that takes responsibility to clean up in their own ranks. First then trust and belief can be rebuildt.

What is wrong with this instruction?

Isn't it that what the Buddha ruled the monks?

You just can´t be more right! Thanks!

"... possibly lead to monk rallying."

I have a picture in my head of saffron clad men driving small cars at high speed across muddy bumpy cross country lanes. Possibly wearing WWII pilot goggles and  screaming something like "Yeehaw!" as the cars go flying through the air.
