BANGKOK, 26th June 2018 (NNT) - The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has expressed confidence that Thai tourism in the second half of 2018 will grow further due to an improved situation in global politics.

Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports Pongpanu Svetarundra said today the PM’s visit to France from 20-26 June and his previous trips to Japan, China, Russia, the U.S. and India helped increase the world’s confidence in tourism in Thailand. The EU’s resolutions to restore its political ties with Thailand as well as the opening of more border checkpoints in the country will also help draw foreign tourists to Thailand, said the deputy permanent secretary.

Despite much higher competition in the global economy, the Thai government continues to implement well-balanced policies and is well accepted by the international community, he said.

Regarding the ministry’s policy on tourism promotion in the latter half of 2018, Mr. Pongpanu said that the ministry will focus on promoting tourism in 55 minor cities to bring tourists and tourism revenue to local communities. The ministry expects that this year’s number of tourists in Thailand will grow at a rate close to last year, said the deputy permanent secretary.

Thai government think water will be wet.

This not news story.

This Blah-Blah.

Just say for eternity please

In the mean time to accomodate expansion Thai government went ahead and raided few thousand hotels ?

Well, it sounds about right what with High season starting at the end of October.

But then again the ministry could just as savely have stated that the sun will rise tomorrow.

Well, except for the high tourist mortality.

Hello ! Space to Ministry calling.

What news are you reading that I am not?

What tea are you drinking to give you these delusions?

Who put you up to reporting this crap?

With 70% of Guest-Houses/Small Hotels closed! Where can I get vouchers allowing me to sleep on Pattaya-Beach?

Cheers.

George Orwell is alive and well....

Clamping down on Airbnb should help tourism no end !

Oh please.

You make it sound like aleppo!

People die everyday. On holiday, at home, at work. They might have preconditions, do something stupid etc etc. Some even suicide sadly.

All these expats that have willingly moved here...not forced, again denigrating the place they have graciously been allowed to move to.

Disrespectful ingrates.

The stats clearly show that despite all the new fogie ramblings and utter lies that thailand is a very safe place.

Walk around the stabbing capital of the world, London. Have a wander around blackpool on the weekend.

Try stepping out in cancun

Thailand is much much safer.

The anti thai agenda merchants dont want to face facts or the truth sadly.

As an expat Londoner I completely agree with you, feel a damn site safer here in Thailand than in the UK.
