Non B Visa to Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I have been working in Thailand for four years and have been on a Non-B throughout the entire time. I am moving back to Canada on August 18th.

My question is regarding entering into Bangkok through Suvarnabhumi on a tourist visa. I am finishing up my current employment on June 29th. My work permit will be cancelled on the same day and I have a letter from my employers notifying immigration of my work permit cancellation. On July 4th I am flying to Hong Kong for the weekend and plan to fly back back into Bangkok on the 8th of July. I am planning on staying here, unemployed of course, and just relaxing/getting ready to move back home. I am wondering if I will have a problem at the airport getting a tourist visa on arrival. Again, my flight is for the 18th of August which is past the 30 day mark. I am intending on getting a tourist visa extension before the 30 days are up. Please let me know if anyone has any experience or has been through a similar situation. Thank you.

You will not have a problem getting a 30 day visa exempt entry (it is not a visa on arrival).

The only problem you might have is being denied boarding your flight back to here since you will not have a flight out within 30 days.
