multiple re entry / work permit

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I am currently on extension of stay based on retirement, expiring july 2019.

I also on multiple re entry expiring july 2019.

If i have a new job with work permit :-

a.  my multiple re entry still valid til july 2019 or void?

b. if i go out of thailand while on employment, can i use the current/exisitng multiple re entry or have to apply new re entry?

thank you for your input.

a) Technically it would is void as the retirement extension prohibits work. If immigration found out you were working they would almost certainly insist you change the basis of your permission to stay to work.

b) Immigration have no way of knowing you're working unless someone tells them, which the labour department don’t routinely do. So you could carry on as you are.

If you are working you should tell Immigration and change your visa/permit to stay to be based on work. Unless you’re the spouse or parent of a Thai in which case it would be best to change the basis of your stay to spouse/parent which also alows you to work.

Your extension of stay based upon retirement will have to be canceled to apply for a extension based upon working which means the re-entry permit for it will be invalid.

You will have to apply for a new re-entry permit.
