Tourist Visa in Cairo, anyone?

Featured Replies

Friends have invited me to visit them out in Cairo, anyone have any experience with the Thai embassy there?

If you will be in transit through another country (between Thailand and Egypt) you may want to check if you can get a (Thai) Tourist visa from the Embassy (or Consulate) in that country instead.

I just had a quick look at the Embassy pages for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha (Qatar) and Manama (Bahrain) and they all state that you must have a Residency card as well (basically they won't issue Visas to tourists passing through).

Seems to be the same thing for Delhi as well (except that there they expect you to use a 3rd party to prepare and submit the applications instead of dealing with them (or you) themselves).

Might be simpler to book your return flight through Kuala Lumpur or Vientiane and get the Tourist Visa from an Embassy there and then enter Thailand.

If you're in Thailand now, why not get a new tourist visa from a neighboring country before your planned trip to Egypt, enter Thailand and then get a re-entry permit before flying to Cairo. Assuming your visit there Is less than the 60 days you'll get from the tourist visa entry, you can return to Thailand using the re-entry permit.

If you're in your home country now, get the Thai  tourist visa there before you travel to Cairo.
