Jip99
Wife’s birthday coming up. Was thinking of Cafe des Amis But they are closed on Sundays. Probably steak, definitely European. Any current favorites.

Maradona 10
Has to European for sure. I've only been to the Cafe De Amis once, the food was simply sensational and not THAT expensive. The only downside was it didn't have the ambience or intimacy I was expecting, it is too open plan, too bright and had a load of noisy herberts in there, very disappointing. Shockingly, there was also a cat in there. Shame it's closed Sunday's, as far as the food goes anyway.
Swiss1960
On the more expensive side, try Bruno's on Thappraya road, or then just next door Gian's which is little less expensiveSent from my CPH1821 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
champers
Does the wife get a say in where she goes for her birthday? I don't know any Thai ladies that would choose European over Asian food.
Mattd
Have you tried Au Bon Coin? - Essential to book For an OK Steak - Beefeater, Steak & Co. Patrick's Where are you located? Da Marco's is a nice place on the Darkside with excellent food (close to the small lake off the very top end of soi 89) again booking essential. Another option could be The Grill Room at the Royal Cliff Hotel.

She will therefore let me do the groundwork and she will choose from my recommendations. Mine chooses Farang food over Thai......for her birthday. Nothing she likes more than a lamb shank...or a piece of succulent tenderloin. Not a fan of factors though.. Back to somtam and bplah rah on Monday.... melvinmelvin
I'd suggest GlassHouse in NaJomtien, a very very nice seaside restaurant. Think GlassHouse is the most pleasant place I have ever been to in Patts/Jomtien. Edited August 1, 2018 by melvinmelvin
