Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Totally agree - all we see here I consider the source, then I go research it myself. I don't ever link even if I am quoting something controversial. I mention where it came from but if anyone is really interested then they can google it themselves. I don't want anyone quoting ME as an official source as who knows what to believe nowadays. Just look at the candidates for President and VP of the US - nothing but lies from both sides. A scary situation as one will be the leader of the USA! -

Labour crisis in Chon Buri as 20,000 workers face unemployment
Hells bells. how do people survive without being paid? If any of my past jobs didn't pay me on time I would have walked. No hesitation. But then we have employment courts and the like to see recompense. Pretty buggered here by the sounds of it. -

Trumps Misinformation and Conspiracy Theories Fuel Threats Against FEMA in North Carolina
Ah. Just a sound bite. that's OK then. You appear to think that suggesting that maybe injecting bleach may be a remotely good idea worth serious investigation. I will leave it there PH -

So I employed a Thai plumber ...
I have lived in Thailand for more than thirty years and consider myself to be extremely blessed to have never had to endure all of the horror stories I continually read about on this forum. -

Its too expensive I may leave
Quick web search shows cheapest 6 inch subway (plain ham) is $8 in Australia. From memory, couple of weeks ago I was paying around 110 baht or $4.90 at Jomtien subway (today's ex rate 22.3), but cheaper if you get the sub of the day. Nearest I'll get to real Thai food. Of course, as others have already pointed out, Thailand is hugely cheaper for the things that really count, such as housing and services. I paid $270 in Oz for an electrician to change a light switch, 2 minute job (he gave me a $30 discount as I'm retired). Paid 120 baht, or $5.40, for a lady in Pattaya to fix the soles of my sandals, over an hour's work, and my apologies to some here, I tipped her 80 baht.- 1

Thai High-Risk Groups Urged to Get Covid-19 Boosters
There I do agree. I was and remain anti-lockdown. IMO, lockdowns should have been advisory for vulnerable people with the rest of us able to make an adult choice. But then would the health services have coped? (Rhetorical question, obviously) No my point was, without the vaccines, the rates of Covid infections would probably have continued rising, and the governments of the world would have kept us in enforced lockdown, and all the other restrictions with which we are familiar. And yes, I chose to be vaccinated (nobody forced me) and as I said above do NOT regret that choice. -
