“[We just tried to] reduce his workload. There’s no problem at all. Don’t think that,” Prayut told reporters. “This has nothing to do with [the watch scandal].”

Go ahead I'm very close to believe everything you say now. What's next...?

But isn’t this a huge loss of face for Prawit? What will this mean going forward?

I still laugh at his excuse that he borrowed the watches from a dead friend. Seven year olds could do better than that. Absolutely ridiculous and even more ridiculous that most of the public seemingly don’t care.

matched only by his comment on the "3 friends" allowed to campaign as they are not politicians.

It has nothing to do with the fact that he has millions in watches, nor that he has billions in cash. So does Little P. It has to do with the fact that he was called out on it, and it was embarrassing to the administration. Little P. seems to really go out of his way to not be demonstrative with the tremendous wealth he has amassed from his four years in power. Biggie did not seem to learn that lesson. Being ostentatious does not help the cause. Do not let them have glimpses of our massive gains.

If he is too old, or fat, or unhealthy to handle the work load, he should just freaking retire.

Thailand needs people with clear minds ( and clear conscience ), not persons who sleep through meetings.

He is on overTIME now.

You can never say behind time....

Funny for how the watch serial numbers and certificate of owner ship has not materialized over the year now. One could get them in less than a week if really needed, but here must be a blanket on it forbidding this... Impossible and the guy is being sheltered.

Very simple really. A token gesture to pretend Prayut is serious about fighting corruption to gain credibility.

Porky will still retain his clout, with various positions alongside the PM and will never go without a chomp from the trough.

They can't track these watches down because Prawit only wears right-handed watches which are very rare and far more difficult to trace.

Using Article 44?

Yea, Prawit works night and day for Thailand. The PM kindly asked him to take a break and work less, but Prawit just doesn't know how to stop working so hard. They had to use 44. There was no other way to get this wonderful man to stop.

refused to say whether the move was taken to boost the government’s image.

This is the only thing that would have gotten Prayut's attention. He is in a quandary  deciding weather all of Prawits cronies, errr, I mean political contacts, or the juntas image (important during election time, maybe) are more important. Prawit would prefer to stay on the committees, meetings are excellent nap time!
