Using 60 day visa after 30 exemption entry

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if it would be okay to get a 60 day visa(in my home country), fly to Thailand and enter on the 30 day visa exemption.  Since the 60 day is valid for 90 days after it’s recieved, can I then leave Thailand for a week or so and return using the 60 day visa to enter the second time?  It would technically still be valid.  Thanks

If depends upon the officer that stamps you into the country. Some might do the visa exempt entry for you or insist on using the tourist visa instead.

Leave the space on the TM6 arrival card for a visa number blank and try to enter visa exempt.

If he insists upon using the tourist visa you can get a single entry re-entry permit for a fee of 1000 baht that will keep the remainder of the 60 day entry valid.
