Popular Post OneMoreFarang
A couple of days ago I was in Phnom Phen to get a new business visa for Thailand. When I gave the woman behind the counter all my documents she looked at some of the documents and then she was shaking her head. Then she looked some more at the same documents and shook her head again. I asked her if everything is alright and she told me the name of the company is wrong. So I told her nicely to look at another document and that will explain it. She ignored this and shook her head again. Then I showed her the exact document. She looked at it and said: "I don't understand this." And that was exactly the problem. She didn't understand it, the documents were perfectly alright. Then she gave my documents to the staff in the background and 1/2 hour later they told me to pay and I should come back in two days to pick up my visa. Two days later my visa was ready, all ok. I mention this here because it seems that at least one person in that embassy has not much of an idea what she should do. She didn't understand my documents and I saw a couple of other people at the counter who tried to explain things to her. Summary: If you go there make sure you know your own documents be ready to explain it to them, if necessary. Apart from that I was surprised about all the Cambodian agents in the embassy who watched football and soap operas on their mobile phone with loud volume and nobody cared. And last but not least I highly recommend the App "PassApp Taxi" for Tuk Tuks, limousine, SUV in Phnom Phen. I never waited more than a minute and it was cheaper than any price which I was quoted before. And no hassle at all. 2
