No one was injured when a tanker with 15 tonnes of highly flammable LPG gas crashed into power poles and then flipped in the middle-road ditch in Prachin Buri early on Friday.

No leak followed the accident on the Kabin Buri-Nakhon Ratchasima road in Moo 10 village in Tambon Muang Kao in Prachin Buri’s Kabin Buri district.

Police said the 22-wheel truck hauling an LPG tanker trailer hit two power poles before overturning in the centre ditch.

The truck driver, Somsak Thinthonglang, 41, was uninjured.

Fire engines rushed to the scene to be on standby for fear of an explosion.

Somsak told police that he was driving from a Rayong refinery to deliver the gas to Laos when he lost control, causing the truck to stray into the ditch and hit the power poles before overturning.

are improving ?

I remember a horrific accident in the heart of BKK when a similar LPG truck left full speed the expressway after driving above Sukhumvit Road to enter Petchburi Road and overturned and exploded causing the death of about 200 people /  this time it was a lucky escape ...

Dangerous good belong on the railway not on the road.

Have you taken a good look at the route map of SRT? Thailand's network of railways has yet to come close to that of the UK 150 years ago. LPG cannot be shipped by rail because SRT has no tank cars for that product.

That was just a suggestion and how other countries handle this issue for long haul transport of dangerous goods.
I am also aware that there is still the need of supplying local gas stations.
