A man was found dead inside his pickup truck in Bangkok on Monday morning, a charcoal stove in the seat behind him suggesting it may have been a suicide.

Udom Suk police found the stove embers already burned out when they arrived at about 10am.

The 38-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld until his family is notified, was lying on the driver’s seat with a flu mask covering his mouth and nose.

Police were at press time trying to contact his family.

R.I.P...Poor Guy.

This is the second case in a month or so. It seems this is a cheap and relatively cheerful (pain free) way of ending it all, without leaving a horrible mess for everyone to clear up.

But. . . why the mask?

Very popular method in Hong Kong.   One of my friends in HK checked out when he was in his 30's using this method.

Sorry to hear that. Presumably you are as baffled by the mask as I am.
