BANGKOK, 21st September 2018 (NNT) -- A vice president of the National Legislative Assembly has confirmed the legislature’s role in paving the way to a general election in 2019.

Vice President of the NLA, Surachai Liengboonlertchai on Thursday chaired the opening ceremony of a workshop for the regional media, during which he offered a special lecture to explain the responsibilities of the legislature when it comes to the election roadmap.

Mr. Surachai stated that the 2017 Constitution stipulates that the NLA’s key mission is to enact 10 organic laws related to the election, including the Election Commission Act and the Political Party Act, which were already completed and present many key changes to ensure the reform of the system.

He specifically noted that the law on the election of Members of Parliament, which was recently published in the Royal Gazette, will not come into effect until 90 days after the day it was published, or until December 10 of this year.

Mr. Surachai stated that, once this law is in force, the election will need to take place within 150 days or by May 9, 2019.

No.1 - adhere to your military constituents' political agenda

Words are easy to say....lets see the election, then we can believe these guys. Not that they have worked hard to lose our trust but....well actually they have put a lot of effort into creating all of the distrust.
