U.S. investors confident in Thailand: PMO minister

BANGKOK, 24 September 2018 (NNT) - United States investors are confident to invest in Thailand while the government will pursue the roadmap towards a general election, said Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office Kobsak Pootrakool. 

He joined a meeting of the Thai-U.S. Chambers of Commerce and commented that Thailand has become an attractive destination for international investors as the global economic focus has shifted to the Asian region, especially the emerging countries in Southeast Asia such as Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam where the respective economy is growing by five to eight percent. 

He said the U.S. investors are more interested to invest in Thailand due to infrastructure development projects which can make it a connectivity hub with the 800-million population in Southeast Asia which could be connected to China and India. 

The PMO minister said the U.S. investors are no longer concerned over Thailand's current political situation whereas the government is pursuing the roadmap toward the planned general election. 

Thailand is currently pushing forward the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project in keeping with the Thailand 4.0 development goal to create a New Economy, and in the progress of negotiating with many countries to establish Free Trade Agreements.

That is what the military said last time.

Did anyone tell the US investors? They don't seem to realize this!

It appears from this statement that the PM has used Section 44 already and marijuana is not only legal ,  it has been smoked by these guys prior to this statesman.

Thailand has always been on of the U.S.'s darlings. Nothing altruistic or morally diplomatic about their schemes.

Historically, always supportive and maintaining friendly relations with a long list of oligarchical class rulers - going way back to the earliest part of the last century. Especially sucky-sucky kinship throughout the militarily ruled late 1950s thru the decade of the 1970s [the golden age of American backing????]
