Video: All quiet on the south eastern front, namely Pattaya City Hall

We Love Pattaya reported that things were quieter than normal at Pattaya City Hall today following the abrupt sacking of the mayor. 

 

Some workers were in as normal but Anan Charoenchasri had already cleared out his desk and disappeared along with three of his deputies and executive staff. 

 

A video of the various departments showed a large degree of clerical tumbleweed in go slow action.

 

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-Ocha removed Anan and replaced him with Sontaya Khunpleum under the general's sweeping Article 44 powers. 

 

There are suggestions that a more EEC (Eastern Economic Corridor) friendly man was needed to promote the interests of the resort. 

 

The new man is yet to take up residence, said the media on Facebook.

There are other suggestions that the resort is used as payment for political support, but that could be fake news and totally wrong..., in fact it is wrong and the official suggestions of a more friendly man are correct. 

The new man will be the same as the old one; grab as much out of the kitty as possible before being moved to an 'Inactive Post' !

  Hope the first thing he tackles is the hulking Waterfront shell sitting there unfinished now for 4 years in the most prominent spot in Pattaya.  Only right since the project was championed all those years ago by the former mayor, one of his family members.
