Yates provoked a backlash from Harry Potter fans earlier this year when he said the character's sexuality would "not explicitly" be addressed in the forthcoming film, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. But in a new interview with Empire magazine, Yates tried to clarify his earlier comments. “In that earlier interview, I didn’t say Dumbledore’s not gay. He is," he asserted.
