Just checking if anyone knows whare to purchase beef fat.

 

I want to make beef tallow and can perform the rendering process alone, if I can locate the beef fat.

 

 

Have you tried asking a butcher?

Makro generally has pretty fatty beef cuts available, but simply asking at the market should be the best solution. In our case (Buriram) that would be the Muslim slaughter house which closes sales around 7am I believe. My wife regularly makes pork lard but has never heard of beef tallow, I wonder where all the fat goes?

I got a 4kg tub of beef tallow from Slone's in BKK not cheap but the only supplier i can find, he also has the pork lard.

 

I checked with Paul @ Nookies in Nang Rong and he was unable to get from any of his suppliers.

 

I need to check the location of the nearest slaughter house and enquire if i can purchase some fat.
