Hello

GF first visa successful and she has since gone back hom to LOS. That was over 2 months ago...missing each other quite lot and tempted for her to come over on a second visit for a few weeks before this first visa expires.

What I'd like your opinion on is whether it is wise for us to do this? We only stated one visit on the first visa application form and so we do not want to do anything that could potentially have a negagive impact on the second visa application when I'm back in LOS in April .

What do you think? Hold tight, waut until the first visa has expired and is out of the way and then bring her back to the UK on the second visa or just go ahead, bring her over on a second visit and not worry about it?

Whilst , I'm asking about visas, is there anything I need to be aware of that will help on her second visitor visa application in April.

As always thanks to everyone for your advice.

Much appreciated.

To be honest, I'd hang fire. Whilst it is not a certainty that a future visit visa application would be refused in such circumstances, it is, however, likely. Therefore, I wouldn't spoil your lifetime of opportunities together for the sake of a short-term gain. In terms of the second visit visa application, just make sure you keep evidence of contact and ensure, as far as possible, your circumstances don't change for the worst.

Cheers,

Scouse.

Taz,

You didn't make it clear if she had a multi entry visa or if this was a single entry. Ask her to check her passport to be sure. From my understanding she probably got a 6 month multi entry visa, right?

If this is the case, then she can in theory visit the UK as many times as she likes within the 6 month validity of that visa and as long as she leaves the UK before it expires then I don't see where the risk.

You may also find it a surprise to hear this but the UK has no exit immigration officers which means that no one is checking to see if people leaving the UK are doing so on an overstay or not... hence why the UK has a huge illegal immigration problem, but it would affect her on a future application should she overstay so I wouldn't recommend it.

BTW, her nickname isn't 'Tina' by any chance is it?

Hi, yes, she's on a multi entry visa...I think best not to risk in just in case.

No, her nickname isn't Tina.

In theory, you are correct. If one has a multi entry visa then one can enter the UK as often as one wishes during the validity of the visa.

In practise? It depends on what was said in the original application. If the applicant said their intention was, for example, to make one visit of 2 months then the visa section at the relevant embassy will expect the applicant to abide by this. Especially if an employer's letter granting just 2 months leave, or similar, was used as a reason to return! Staying longer or making a subsequent visit during the life of the visa would not be illegal, but it would show a lack of faith on behalf of the applicant which could make the ECO less inclined to trust them next time.

Tell me about it.

My girl friend returned for a second visit within the 6 months visa and our next application was refused on the grounds that at the original interview she only said 1 trip to the UK was planned.

At the time I had not read this forum and believed that we were not doing anything wrong, the visa was valid and multi entry.

Scouser has since told me how these things work and we have submitted another application taking onboard his advice.

Hmmm....very good point that actually.. I didn't think about that at all. Her father is her employer as per the last application but I suppose that wouldn't make much difference.

Would I be right in presuming that for the scond visa application my GF getting another couple of months off from her employer so soon after the first visa has expired (about 6 weeks) shouldn't be a problem so long as he (her father but also her employer) puts in his letter that although my GF is his employee, she is also his daughter and he therefore accepts that the relationship between us has grown stronger and that we would want to spend more time together in the UK? Or shouldn't I presume anything?

What do you reckon?

Its less than 2 months to my next trip to do the visa application so time to start worrying and then panicing again...apologies in advance!

Cheers
