PHUKET: Phuket City Traffic Police this morning repeated their advisory for motorists to avoid Phuket Town during Vegetarian Festival processions – especially the roads leading to Sapan Hin during the last night of the festival tomorrow night (Oct 17).

Traffic tailbacks ensued at around 8:15am this morning as the procession from the Kathu Shine, on its return journey from Saphan Hin, made its way along along Wichit Songkram Rd, passed Surakul Stadium, through the busy Darasamuth Intersection and continued toward Makro in Wichit.

Although the procession started at 6:45am, its return journey saw the procession course its way through town in peak traffic, and subsequently causing long traffic delays.
