Chinese do not stay in 100 bath dorm places and live on a bottle of water and a pad thai from the street. And yes they don't buy their stuff on the markets but go to shopping malls like Maya, Central festival and do not buy cheap copies at the night bazaar. And they don't take the cheap over night buses but fly to the beach.

Fly indeed and threaten to blow up the plane over trivial nonsense--dont forget the mama cups at 7-11..

Also have no clue about the local pricing and paying way too much-raising prices for all of us

A lot of Thais think the same about the farang  here. Hoping that they will stop visiting and life will be better like it was before.  You all think that you are different to the Chinese but in many p

  • Go on....exactly how does that differ from the Brits going on holiday to Spain, we all booked via our local agent in our town and travelled on British Midlands Airways, Easyjet etc or a Wallis Arnold

  • It has been very noticeable in the past few weeks here the lack of Chinese tourists. The only exception I have noticed is Sunday night at the Tapae Gate and the night Market on the other side. I gue

Did you not notice that the Chinese even go to the beaches in clothes

that they brought from China. They hardly ever buy at Thai marketplaces
and if they do it's only if they get a very very low price.

Did you ever notice that many Chinese drop 600K THB at Central in Bangkok?

Thank goodness for Scouser Lee and his dyke girlfriend B. You've got to look for the positives.

Haven't had to avoid as much on my scooter in Nimmen.

From the article

Other proposals included setting up a call centre, especially for the Chinese.

From past news articles it's obvious that the Chinese don't need help setting up call centres in Thailand

I surely must have missed that. Is that a common practice among the Chinese tourists that visit Thailand?

Well, the westerners sure are getting better value for money.

It's also been very slow in Pattaya.

Whenever a thread like this pops up I am reminded of a George Orwell quote from his book Burmese Days:

"He had forgotten that most people can be at ease in a foreign country only when they are disparaging the inhabitants."

This thread is a 2 for 1. Disparaging both Chinese and Thais.

Yes, common.
