New marriage visa

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Could anyone give a link of the requirements for a marriage visa? I'm currently on a marriage visa extension that will finish on 18 November. I don't have the 400 000 THB required to extend it again so I will try to make a new one.

All the pages I found on google include the 400 000, I'm a bit struggling there.

Thanks

You can get a single entry non-o visa at many embassies or consulates with no financial proof.

You apply for a multiple entry non-o visa at the consulate in Savannakhet Laos with no financial proof.

You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy, signed copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card. The fee is 5000 baht.

Forget about going to the embassy in Phnom Penh. They can be very difficult to get non-o visas from. Plus it takes at least 3 days to get the visa.

Got to Savannakhet and you only need what I wrote. Apply the morning of one day and pickup the next afternoon.

Sorry I'm making you busy without checking well.

So I need the following documents:

- Marriage certificate plus a copy

- Signed copies of my wife's house book registry and ID card

- Passport copy

That's really all, by safety I will take my children birth certificate, and few photos of us in our house.

What is the application form? maybe I can prepare it before too

Many people have gotten the visa there with no more documents than those.

Certainly no photos in around the house are needed.

Application form: Savannakhet 2501-01-31.PDF

No need for a Kor Ror 2. Just you original marriage certificate to show and a copy for the application.

I dropped my file this morning at the consulate, I still have few questions:

- for the duration of stay I put 90 days but I want to apply for 1 year, is that correct? I put 90 days because I read an answer from Ubon Joe on another thread saying that for 12 months we should ask 90 days because that will be the length of stay before extension, that's how I understood it, hope I didn't misunderstood.

- last visit to Thailand I put the date I left Thailand and arrived in laos (18 November)

If for any reason they denied my visa, is there other ways I could go to Thailand, at least to be able to take back my family to France, sell house etc... But maybe I should wait tomorrow before to ask.

If your application was accepted you have really have nothing to worry about. I don't recall any report of them dening one after it was accepted and the fee paid.

Hi, I have to make my 90 days report, I thought I read somewhere that it's possible to extend 60 days at my local immigration and then get out of the country to get 90 days again, am I right?

If I have to get out of the country is there any problem at the Myanmar border in Kantchanaburi?

ubobjoe, you do know you have to leave the country every 90 days when doing the marriage visa from Savannakhet right? I have been doing one there for the last 4 years and that is what I was told, so no 90 day check in with this visa.

Of course I know that. I was only replying to what I quoted from the post.
