Thai Visa On Arrival OVERSTAY 3 days

Recommended Posts

Sorry to have to inquire on an old topic; I have been coming and going to Thailand for many years and have followed the law, lease a house, and travel a lot. In this case, I was recuperating from a mugging in Phnom Phen at home in Thailand, then in addition encountered severe allergy conditions (visited the doctor specialist twice). In so doing with all the medication and trauma, my thinking was not clear nor focused (obviously) and I forgot about extending my visa on arrival (32 days now). I intend to visit the immigration office tomorrow asap, but would welcome any advice and suggestions. I have a house lease, some cash, proof of monthly income and then some (no not enough for retirement).  Much obliged for any insight. Thanks, khap Khun khrap.

You apparently have a 30 day visa exempt entry since visas on arrival are only for 15 days after applying for it.

With 2 days of overstay they will do the 30 day extension after you pay the 1000 baht fine at 500 baht per day.

The date you apply for is extension is included in the fine. When did your 30 days end?

Due to illness and the weekend I was late renewing my visa on arrival by 3 days. Had to pay 1400 baht, then the 1900 baht for renewal fee as expected. Swift, friendly effecient service as usual at the Thai Immigration in Mae Sai. Immigration in Chiang Rai also gives good service too. Alas, no favors though! Nice to be legal again.
