webfact
Video: Motorcycle taxi for 800 baht? "Win" rider gets panned by his own on Facebook Picture: Kapook A video of a Bangkok motorcycle taxi rider asking 800 baht for a fare brought a hail of criticism online. And most of it came from fellow "win" riders who said that the rider was ripping passengers off and letting the side down. While others said that Grab Bike was the answer to this kind of fleecing, reported Kapook. The journey and its aftermath posted on the page of "Chang Bas Jit Jat" was from Ekamai to Ram Intra. The rider complains it's far and there is traffic as he requests 800 baht. In the end 500 baht is agreed. But other motorcyle taxi riders (or win as they are known in Thai) said 300 would be more than enough for such a journey in the rush hour. Some said they'd do it for 200 baht, charging 800 is getting close to the cost of an air-ticket! While other people who commented on the widely shared video said just take Grab - it's cheaper. Popular Post rkidlad
Every time a win rider tries to rip me off (it happens rarely) by saying "bad traffic" - I remind them of why I'm taking the motorcycle taxi in the first place. If there's no traffic, I'll take a taxi cab or the bus. I'm certainly not using motorcycle taxis for the comfort or safety. unamazedloso
80-100b to fill the families little crap scooters tank and it lasts a whole day non stop riding. i think 300b is about 250b too expensive for a squeeze through traffic. Couple trips like that and you could buy a scooter.
