Video: Pattaya police inspecting disco ahead of Loy Krathong celebration

A video posted by Siam News showed the Pattaya police inspecting a disco at the resort earlier this morning. 

 

The visit was billed as an opportunity to reassure tourists both Thai and foreign in the lead up to the Loy Krathong celebration tomorrow. 

 

The officers were led by Lt Col Netithorn Ratanasuchanan who gave a short speech rallying his men before the visit. 

 

IDs were examined and people were checked for drugs. 

 

No underage drinkers or drug takers were found at all.

Couldn't find out.

But if you zoom in to the picture (also from the original article) you will hardly find a Caucasian face. Probably all Thai people. So sure no place relevant for foreigners.

I've seen the police lined up several times across the street from Soi 9 Station as I drove down Beach road.

 

When it's out in the open like that, I wonder what stops a Thai person listening and calling to warn whatever establishment is going to be raided?
