A Chinese national was sent to Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Sunday after he allegedly slashed a police official and an old woman with a meat cleaver the day before.

 

Chamkarmon district deputy police chief Heang Tharet told The Post that the suspect, Jin Chun, 37, was apprehended on Saturday afternoon after he seriously injured Mao Samnang, a police official in Kamkarmon district, and Meas Saly, 70, a sugarcane vendor.

 

“The suspect was sent to Phnom Penh Municipal Court charged with intentional violence. At the moment, the municipal court is interrogating him,” Tharet said.
