February 19, 200719 yr Information on the VFS web site states: The application for a Thai police clearance may be made at the Special Branch Bureau, Royal Thai Police Headquarters, Rama I Road, Bangkok, building 24. Application forms and detailed instructions are also available at that location. I am just wondering if anyone knows some more detail on this process, such as turn around time, cost, just what will actually happen when I get the wife to go and ask. Thanks
February 19, 200719 yr The police checks were free when I last obtained one. Turnaround time is approx. 14 days. They will post the results to the applicant. No appointment is necessary.

We did this about 3 months ago. Just go there and get it done, no fee involved, just make sure you take whatever doccuments they require. You can go and pick it up 14 days later or have it mailed to you. If your married and your Thai wife has not changed her surname yet, they might tell you they cant do it (which is not true), that is what they said to us, you will need to argue and explain the to get an Oz visa she doesnt have to have your surname, just be prepaired if they try to do that trick to squeeze out a bribe........................
February 20, 200719 yr Author Thanks for the replies. Wife has changed surname, so I assume if she takes ID card, passport, house book? The next challenge will be for her to find the building.
February 20, 200719 yr The compound is about a 5-10 min walk from the Siam BTS. The security guard will keep your wifes ID card when you get onto the premisses and tell you where to go. Allow about 1 hour to finish everything.
