A standard story reported by Manager of an honest Bangkok taxi driver had a twist in the tale.

The delighted visitor who got his money back said he had left stuff on public transport many times before - and this was the first time he'd got anything back!

Roi-Et native Sangwan Srikhammee, the 46 year old driver of pink cab number ทห (thor hor)  5948 had picked up two passengers from Sukhumvit Road Soi 19 and taken them to Baiyoke Tower on Sunday evening.

Later after he stopped at Makkasan to do some private business he noticed a sky-blue bag on the rear seat and saw that it contained a passport in the name of Ms Sun-jing and foreign currency. There was yuan, US dollars and won amounting to 55,188 baht.

Sangwan said he was unsure what to do so he called a friend who suggested FM 91 radio station who managed to locate Mr Cheong Poh Lim.

He said: "I am so happy to get my possessions back. I am a businessman and I come to Thailand often.

"I have lost money on public transport both in Thailand and abroad many times before but I never got it back until now".

You knew this was coming,  even with last weeks good news of the cabbie who rescued the Yanks 9,000 USD in baht, how can we not want more!!

Rainy morning here in CM, but this news breaks and I'm all Warm and Fuzzy! Double it up with the Vikings getting S canned yesterday and we are living in the best of times.

Alzheimers? Perhaps you need a medical check-up?

I'm not a businessman, but I've never lost any money on public transports.

Due to overload of E-Mails and phone calls we at TAT apologize for late response. We are currently busy with updates to our address book of honest cabbies in Thailand:

Congratulations you have your money back and here's a free ticket on the phoenix????

Could turn this into a drinking game.

How can this literally happen all the time.

It never seems to happen in any other country on such a high frequency.

Hence, how can they blatantly set these things up and lie and expect us all to believe them.

I wonder how much they pay each guy in the photo for these imaginary tales.

Dear TAT, I would like a job as a Taxi driver,I promise to give all farangs free taxi rides all day every day but I think I could make a very good living  just keeping the money that is left in my cab every day.

ps no publicity please

What the story forgot to mention is that the cabbie did not turn ON the meter and the chinaman paid a fortune for the ride !!????..
