There was sad news for country music legend Dolly Parton after it was revealed that her younger brother Floyd, has died aged 61.

 

According to Aitchley Funeral Home in Tennessee, Floyd died on December 6.

 

Floyd was famous for writing a number of his 72-year-old sister's biggest country hits, including Rockin' Years in 1991 and Nickels and Dimes from 1978.

 

The funeral company's website has posted an obituary to Floyd, writing: "A renaissance man, Floyd was a man of many talents and areas of knowledge.
