Aquaman review: Jason Momoa's fish-talking superhero could save DC

There's no denying that Aquaman has long felt like a strange proposition.

A notoriously bemusing superhero for non-DC fans (he lives underwater and talks to fishes!), the first two appearances of Jason Momoa's Atlantean prince in the little-loved Batman v Superman and Justice League failed to make much of a splash.

Warner Bros' decision to push ahead with its Aquaman solo movie felt exceedingly optimistic, and probably doomed to fail.

We're happy to be proven wrong. Aquaman is a flawed but thoroughly entertaining adventure movie and certainly one of the strongest instalments so far in the inconsistent Worlds of DC franchise.
