PATTAYA:--About 100 former employees of a Nong Plalai factory say their Chinese employer still owes them about 40 million baht.

Production Manager Panom Rinpol led about 40 of his former colleagues to the Banglamung District government complaint center Dec. 7 to file a grievance against TT Corporation Co., which had not paid some employees for the past year.

Panom said the factory – which assembled air conditioners and solar panel modules – was owned by Taiwanese national Tien In Huang and Thai Saowapak Hondamnuan. He said that he alone is owned more than 2 million baht in back pay, as he was supposed to be paid 220,000 baht a month.

The Department of Labor Protection and Welfare filed a lawsuit against the company with a labor court ordering the firm to pay up. If the owners miss their deadline the government will seize the factory and all its assets and auction them off to pay staff.

The group said it complained to the Banglamung center to put pressure on the company to pay them.
