The first image of Will Smith as the Genie in Disney's live action remake of Aladdin hasn't gone down well with fans.

 

Smith posed in character alongside Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as Jasmine for a photo that graced the new issue of Entertainment Weekly published on Wednesday.

 

While some took issue with his genie hairdo, it was the fact that he wasn't blue, like the cartoon version voiced by Robin Williams in the animated original, that really got people riled up.

 

'Man why ain't Will Smith blue in the new Aladdin,' tweeted @JalenGibson, in what seemed to sum up the feelings of the Twitterverse.
