Wifey says she never seen anything like it before. It looks huge, assuming that's a standard size banana leaf it sits on. It looks to me most like a South American Tarantula. You found that in your garden? In Thailand?

holy shit...if I saw sumpin' like dat in my garden (ain't got one, live inna shophouse) I'd move out de next day...dey sense heat an' move inta bed widya...next thing ye know they're walkin' across yer face when yer tryin' to sleep... :o

Yes I concur it looks like a variety of Thai huntsman spider , very beautiful too.

Not dangerous [ except to insects ]

Nothing like any New or Old world Tarantula.
