Hey,

After seeing quite a few people bashing the Thai Elite visa I would like to explore a business visa, the TE to be fair seems like a pretty hassle free deal. 7k a month to live somewhere like Thailand, with all it's tax benefits seems fair not to mention not being questioned and made to feel small at immigration every few months. But anyway, happy to look at other options.

Seems like the only other route is a Non-o business visa.

I have a UK company, so could potentially have a Representative Office company here, but 3m baht start up capital is high seeing it probably will only be hiring one admin staff.

The LTD company has much lower capital requirements but need to hire 4 staff at a minimum of probably 10k a month, 480k a year which is the same as the 5 year TE visa.

Not interested in doing visa runs, and just having a shell company not doing anything feels like a massive waste of everyones time and more expensive than just getting a TE visa.

Am I missing something?

If you can afford the TE membership the PE visa that is the way to go.

Thanks, why would you get a PE (I'm assuming Privilege Access) over the superiority extension?

You buy membership of the Thailand Elite scheme and "Superiority Extension" is the name of one of the membership packages.

All the packages come with a PE (Privilege Entry) visa, renewed every 5 years, for the duration of the package you choose.

Personally I would go for the 20 year membership for 1M baht (Superiority extension). I think it's a good option, but I don't need the visa as I qualify to stay for several reasons that do not make the PE visa good value or necessary for me. That said, if they issued an actual 20 year visa (rather than 4 x 5 year) I'd be sorely tempted!
