Thai Man Escapes With Life In Harrowing, Violent Scam In Parisian Club

By Asaree Thaitrakulpanich, Staff Reporter

PARIS — A New Year’s trip to the City of Love took a scary turn for one Thai man whose harrowing night on the town turned into a police adventure.

He described being scammed and mugged in the red light district before turning the tables and joining a raid on the joint in a made-for-Pantip drama he recounted Tuesday night to the tune of nearly 1 million likes on the popular web board.

Wow heard stories like this from Patong and several other Thai tourist ghettos, common around the world no doubt.

10 Euro entry and the free champagne? No scam here...

The system might be a Thai export from Patpong.

From where have I heard this story before... and multiple times, too? Oh, that's right, Thailand!

There only seems one important difference: In Thailand hapless punters are usually not accosted by one single bouncer but about ten or twelve at the same time.

Wow, we’re so lucky things like this don’t happen in Thailand....

He believed that the bottle of champagne was included in the 10 Euro entry fee LOL????????????

To his professed shock, the waitress who brought his drink suddenly exposed her breasts.

“I was flabbergasted; I never go to places like this!

He usually probably only goes to temple fairs featuring coyote dancers.

More than likely.

Cultural diffusion in terms that some don't want to hear about.

Not only that, but it are always Thai people that get scammed by foreigners, even in Paris.

Soho used to be like that but those days are long gone.  I was having dinner there last week and it is all luvvies (as in theatre actors and celebs) and over priced restaurants and bars. Does have a very good vibe though. There are probably the odd lap dancing club or two but not in your face as it was years ago.

There will always be rip off joints around in any major city to scam the tourists.  It is all part of the fabric of the worlds nightlife.  We don't want a world that is too sanitised do we?

Donkeys years ago a mate and i were in Paris, seen a sign

on this basement bar,sex show, first drink free,so curious,

went down, the sex show was a man and woman simulating

sex on a little stage, the first drink was a coke, then after 15 mins,

they bring over the Champagne,I didn't order that, but you

have to buy !, F*&k off ! and just walked out,but they had their

hooks into a group of Japanese guys.

regards worgeordie

Thousands of karaoke bars in Thailand running the same inflated drink bill scam and this guy has to go to Paris to get a similar experience. I have to laugh. :cheesy:
