City Hall to introduce proper motorcycle taxi stops on street pavements

 

 

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has come up with an idea to carve out spaces on pedestrian’s footpaths to accommodate motorcycle taxi stands so that they would not trespass roads.

 

There are currently more than 5,400 motorcycle taxi stops across Bangkok, with 2,339 of them located on roads, 1,779 on private land and 1,375 on street pavements.

 

The city administration is expected to come up with a design on motorcycle taxi stops that would be erected on certain parts of street pavements which are wider than 4 metres in February.  Motorcycle taxis will be confined in these spaces which will be clearly marked with motorbike taxi stand signs.

......and then be duly ignored by those who purchased their orange vests and in doing so established their personally well justified sense of entitlement to do whatever they want, whenever they want on their little patch..... 

 

 

 

This I gotta see. Great idea [emoji362] but we are talking a taxi service and they are all above the law

How about an idea on how to prevent them from DRIVING on pavements?

Given the many recent news articles about motorcyclists riding on the pavement, some hitting pedestrians, I think there needs adding to the end of the quote above: 'at all'.

Imagine the stories these guys could tell at this taxi stop...

The words proper and taxi should never be used in the same sentence in LOS.

Probably end up with car taxi and bike taxi sharing the same bits of pavement leaving pedestrians having to walk in the road to get around them.

Yeah that will be like catching greased pigs
