pdimond
So, my friend and I would like to travel to Poi Pet to do some gambling in the casinos that lie between Thai and Cambodia immigration. We would like to do so without entering Cambodia (and dealing with all of the trouble that is a Cambodian visa). We both hold year long non-im visas. Is it possible to get something like a pass that says we're just going to the casinos, and not all the way into Cambodia? The one time I was there, I remember seeing a sign in English about border passes.... have no idea who they are for or what. If not, is it possible to obtain a re entry permit, get ourselves stamped out of Thailand, but never go into Cambodia? Additionally, could someone fill me in the requirements for our Thai national companions? Will they need id cards or passports or both? I remember seeing a friend's passport stamped in and out of Aranyaprathet with zero in the way of Cambodian stamps and visas. Thanks for the help! (and any other Popet debauchery tips)

We are both American, but will more than likely be travelling with companions who are Thai nationals. So, we have to pay the $20 for a visa and bother with the re entry permit.... someone told me that I can do the re entry permit online- confirm/deny? That means I'm gonna have to clear at least 2k baht at the tables.... hehe Is there anything remotely interesting or seedy in the hamlet of Poi Pet? I've only been once for about 26 seconds (the time it took me to run from the bus to immigration).
Maestro
...re entry permit.... someone told me that I can do the re entry permit online- confirm/deny? In Bangkok, you can apply for it by email, but you have to pick it up in person, bring the photos, pay the fee and get the stamp in your passport. -- Maestro
Lop
I think border passes are for Thais (and Cambodians) only. All other nationalities need a visa (20 US$). //Lopburi
