Lotus flowers in a deep pond

Featured Replies

My pond is about 150 cm deep.

Is there a simple way to put in lotus flowers without building an "underwater mountain" ?

what about a long neck vase concept?

go look in local temples, for design ideas, as they are bound to have similar (for their displaying of Asiatic Lillys etc) and find where they get them from. (Yes, that may be difficult as most would have been wife donations! )

The Lotus would other wise need a year and a half to fully reach the surface, freely growing...

If you plant them as deeply as you can whilst wading (weighing down the plants with a brick) they will decide for themselves which side of the pond to grow in and how deep they want to go. If you can pump out water I'm sure your neighbours would appreciate.
