Need the best way to ship a 15-20 kilo box from Bangkok to Samui

Featured Replies

Flying in and will be staying near Suvarnabhumi airport. Want to ship a box of random stuff that I get from Ikea down to my Replay condo in Samui Bangrak area. Trying to find info from the US online has been difficult. I was told by DHL that they don't ship domestically but not sure if the operator knows what she's talking about since she's in the US. I would also like the box to arrive within a few days if possible. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

Thailand Post will ship almost anything (they ship motorcycles so a 20kg box should be no issue).

Great, thanks. I looked on Thailand post but couldn't find any thing about rates or delivery timelines but most of it was written in Thai.

Top right of their homepage has "Eng" and their rates are freely available on the site too.

20kg parcel =305 baht

Hope this helps. There is further post office info in the pinned topic at the top of this forum.

I can explain it for you - but I can't understand it for you 😀

I think Ikea offers shipping, so you don't have to take this stuff to a post office by yourself

An alternative to Thailand Post is Kerry Express.

The 20kg for 305THB option will take about a week to arrive (they call this r-post or something like this), if you opt for EMS you pay more but will get your stuff in 1-2 days.

612 Baht to send 20 KG EMS, which allows you to track and trace your package.

Or stick it on a bus.

"Logispost", up to 200 kg from post office to post office (not door to door).

Logispost Plus, restricted to 271 post offices.

3 working days max.

(link to available offices does not work )

This works well if you can take it to the bus station and you can pick it up same day or the next day.

That's a big help, especially since there is a Thai Post at the Airport. Thank you very much!

Do they have buses that run from Bangkok to Samui?

I'll try the EMS Thai Post since Ikea shipping down to the islands is pretty high and slow.

Just use Bangkok airways cargo. Especially as you're already going to be close to the airport.

Arrives normally in a matter of hours from drop off and all rates are online.

Really good value, so cheap in fact considering it's so fast.

I have used this service many times from BKK and Chaing Mai.

You need to present ID when sending by the way.

Wow! great to know about this. Do you know if the cargo station is easy to reach (walkable) from the international arrival or Departure terminal?

The link below is from a thread a few years back on TV

Hope this helps
