What if I find one thai citizen and start my company/business/venture by putting his/her name as 51% as per Thai rules. So tell me I can start forming company with this rule on my tourist visa and what after if I form company with Thai sharing 51% ? I will eligible of getting work permit/visa automatically or do I need to do something else too. Very confusing kindly give me some solutions thanks in advance

But he or she will have voting rights and might tell you to P off if it starts to make money. If you can find a number of people who don't know each other that would be better each has less than you so cannot individually chuck you out.

Maybe they can be shareholders not directors so have no executive authority or liability.

It is however a minefield.

Some areas need you to have two employees some areas say four employees.

Not sure on the situation for say your wife being the 51% holder.

Your local labour office will tell you what's required in your area.

Don't ask Immigration by the way.  They have nothing to do with it. ????

If it is your wife better to go 60/40 or even 68/32. This draws less attention from nosy officials.

You sound new to Thailand and very naïve to the many, many pitfalls. Before investing any money, I suggest you learn "the lay of the land" first.

Before long, other members here will tell you "don't invest any more money than you can afford to lose". Good advice !

And keep reading Thaivisa. It is a digital gold mine for learning all aspects of Thailand.

Good luck and make a million. Start with 5 million. It will become a million before too long.

Yes, because you cannot get a work-permit with a Tourist Visa.  After forming the company, and hiring the requisite 4 Thai employees, you have laid the groundwork for a company can then employ you legally - but not while you are here as a Tourist.

Your Thai accountant/lawyer should be able to provide you with the documents needed to go out for a Non-B Visa (possibly change types in-country - but that could be more difficult).  Entering with the Non-B Visa you receive 90-days permitted-stay, and in the last 30 days of this, you can apply for a 1-year extension of stay with immigration, using similar paperwork.

100% correct. I wish I could show a softer approach as per neeray.

Fact is the op didn't mention wife...in fact opposite. " what if I can find someone..." Comes across as extremely wet behind ears etc. Doesn't take much to see that primary intention is to use as vehicle for visa. There are better visa options than starting a Thai company unless indeed you have a serious business plan. I'm thinking not.

Everything points the way you describe it.

OP - agree with the others - don't do it for this reason.  Expensive and PITA - not worth it unless your business will generate income - and, even then, be careful who you invest with.
